Sleek user guide
Used FrameMaker to create an original user guide for Sleek, a to-do manager tool.
Context
Sleek is a task management tool with limited documentation available.
Challenge
Create an original user guide that supports users using technical writing best practices.
What I did
Researched the web for an open-source software that I can create documentation for.
Created an information architecture by investigating the software.
Split up topics into concept, task, and reference.
Wrote an original user guide using FrameMaker and exported it as an interactive PDF.
Outcome
Delivered a professional, structured guide demonstrating my ability to learn new software, simplify complexity, and design clear documentation.
Context
Dice.fm is a ticketing software company with a unique style.
Challenge
Investigate a company to create standards for consistent communication and design.
What I did
Reviewed Dice.fm’s website and app and recorded communication/design consistencies.
Developed a style guide in Notion for voice, tone, formatting, etc.
Designed as a living document so it can easily be updated.
Collaborator
I worked with Dustin J Allen, a fellow technical communicator.
Outcome
Produced a living resource that ensures content consistency across teams, helping the company with long-term scalability.
Used MadCap Flare to create a help website for Remember The Milk, a to-do list tool.
Context
Remember The Milk is a to-do list tool with a modern style.
Challenge
Create new help centre content and create it into a functioning website using MadCap Flare.
What I Did
Investigated Remember The Milk's functions, help content, and brand voice.
Created original content using topic-based authoring: task, concept, and reference topics.
Followed plain language principles and Microsoft Style Guide best practices.

Prabhjot Bains, a fellow technical communicator and writer.
Outcome
Functioning website with helpful topics for users that follow Remember The Milk's brand voice. Website topics are scannable and readable.

Context
Criterion Collection is a popular film library with a wide audience.
Challenge
Redesigning the help centre to be intuitive and user-friendly.
What I did
Created the website redesign using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Designed a prototype in Figma to test a new information architecture.
Developed a user persona/story, user flow, and customer journey map.
Conducted user research throughout the process to ensure accurate writing and design.

Outcome

Human-Centric Cybersecurity Partnership, a national research initiative bringing together graduate students and industry experts across Canada.
Challenge
Contribute to a think-tank–style research team analyzing ransomware and its impact on individuals, organizations, and infrastructure.
What I Did
Conducted research on ransomware attacks and their broader social effects.
Wrote sections focusing on societal implications and actionable recommendations.
Collaborated with students, academics, and cybercrime professionals, expanding networks within the cybersecurity field.

Published a research paper about cyberbullying amongst post-secondary students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Context
Final paper for an Internet and Society Sociology course during my undergraduate degree.
Challenge
Create a literature review on a topic of my choice that includes actionable recommendations to solve the problem.
What I Did
Dove deep into the literature on cyberbullying during the COVID-19 pandemic using Western Libraries access and Google Scholar.
Discussed evidence of cyberbullying. its impact on students, and research gaps.
Provided insight on actionable recommendations for further research and institutional-level change.
Outcome
Published paper in The Sociological Imagination, Western University's Undergraduate Journal, demonstrating academic research and writing skills.
